Chuncks of language
Submitted by Anonymous on Friday, July 22, 2011 - 16:07

Here are lists of formulaic phrases that are useful for ALL levels of German learning. Personalise the sheets, or use them as are. A good tip is to laminate them and either hand them out to be used in each class, or better yet, hot glue them to the students' desks, as Nicole Polke, who created these, did. NO excuses for not speaking German!

Teach Dictionary Skills
Submitted by Anonymous on Saturday, July 3, 2010 - 08:58

Attached are a Powerpoint Presentation and a .pdf, both created by Oxford University Press to teach the use of their dictionaries. However, I believe most of their conventions are in universal usage. The ppt is 35 slides long, very encompassing, but you can edit and choose the slides that you think are important for your learners.
I think this would be a good resource to upload onto your institution's server, so that learners can access and download it if they wish to do so.
The .pdf is a copy of the .ppt.

Educational Origami link to Bloom's Digital Taxonomy
Submitted by Gunhild Litwin on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - 09:29

Alerted by our friends from the French.ac.nz website, I had a look at this rich and informative wiki. It is well worth a look: it offers lots of 'how-to' downloads and makes a compelling case for the integration of e-learning in the classroom to serve higher level thinking and communication skills.

How to create, save, and share Google docs
Submitted by Anonymous on Friday, October 23, 2009 - 15:56

Here is a easy to follow explanation from Gretchen Badenhorst on how to create Google docs and how to set up an account. Google docs is an application that lets you share documents, such as wordfiles, pdfs, spreadsheets and more with people you invite. This makes it easier than sending fat files via email, which is a pain for users without broadband access. All invited people can work on the files, making changes, adding to them, download them and more.
